Prepositions of Time

Prepositions are words that show time.  They tell us when things happen.
The two most important are before and after.

Before is first and After is second.  Here are some examples:

7 pm: Baseball Game
8pm: Hockey Game
9 pm: Football Game

• The baseball game is before the hockey game.
  
• The hockey game is after the baseball game.
  
• The football game is after the baseball and hockey game.
  

During is a preposition that means at the same time.  Here are some examples:

• He listened to music during the exam.
